“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi
“Students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioral problems and better academic performance, and are more likely to complete high school than students whose parents are not involved in their school.” [1]
Here are just some of the ways you can volunteer your time to our teachers and students this year:
One-time Events:
We have several one-time events throughout the school year where you can lend a hand. From helping out with Picture Days and Hearing & Vision Screening to providing Conference Meals or setting up for Spring Fling – volunteering an hour or two of your time just once during the year can make a big difference to the success of an event!
Classroom Support and School Support:
Visit our Signup Genius Link for current volunteer needs: https://bit.ly/volunteeratburlington
If you’re available to pitch in on a more regular basis our teachers can always use an extra hand both in AND out of the classroom. Support a reading group weekly/monthly, make copies and sharpen pencils, prepare Thursday folders or even put together book orders from home. Giving just a few minutes every week can free up a teacher’s time so they can better focus on our kids! Reach out to you student’s teacher today for classroom volunteer opportunities
We have a need for Thursday folder help! Whether it’s weekly, or occasional, we’d love to have you! Contact us at president@burlingtonpto.com for details!
PTO Membership:
You can get involved on a larger scale by joining one of our Committees/becoming a Program Coordinator or taking on a Board Position. Many of these jobs can be done mostly from home, too! If you have a little more time to give and would like to be an integral part of our parent organization, emil president@burlingtonpto.com to see what opportunities are available!
